Virus "OnlineGames"




In general, several variants of trojans OnlineGames only used to steal account information online game players who will then be sent over the link URL (uniform resources locator) encrypted targeted by the trojan. To W32/OnlineGames.JGEV this is not just an online gaming account information, but some other accounts that also was stolen. 

Several variants of trojans earlier just after a few games online, like World of Warcraft (WOW), Perfect World, and Cabal Online. This Trojan is also looking for some accounts recorded in the script file trojan. Trojan uses keylogging activities that aim first to get the usernames and passwords from online games. 

OnlineGames spread through: 
  1. Posting in public forums, and then provide links to downloadable files.
  2. Link to download the flash player, when downloaded and run the trojan (usually with a certain pop-ups). 
  3. Posting a link on the game forums as a FAQ (frequently asked question) of the game, or by asking questions about some things in the game that included a link, to make a link about the latest patches on a particular game.
  4. Send e-mail that included a link or a particular attachment. 
  5. File sharing on the network, usually in the form executable file / application. 
According to watchlist NNP (Norman Network Protector) mounted on the main data, variants OnlineGames proven ranked first as the most malware was discontinued in August 2009.
